Recent versions of Firefox support WebMIDI with sysex.  We test the web editor in Firefox version 144 and later.  You need to give permission for our site to use the WebMIDI API.

Connect your pedal to your computer via USB and go to https://www.redpandalab.com/editor/

Click on the link to the editor for your product.

A new tab will open with the web editor.  If this is the first time you have accessed it using Firefox, you will be prompted to allow redpandalab.com to access your MIDI devices:

Click Continue to Installation

You will be prompted to install an add-on thatgives redpandalab.com access to your MIDI devices:

Click Add

You should see this confirmation dialog:

The web editor should say
Status: Connected

and the on-screen faders should follow knob movements on the pedal.  The next time you start Firefox, it should connect to the pedal right away without showing any dialog boxes or prompts.

Troubleshooting

Restart Firefox after installing the add-on and granting permission.

Try closing any other applications or web browsers that might be connecting to the pedal.

Confirm that WebMIDI support is enabled:

  1. In the address bar, type about:config and press Enter.
  2. Search for dom.webmidi.enabled — make sure it’s true.
  3. Restart Firefox, then reload the test page.
  4. Ensure you’re running the latest version of Firefox and try again.
